Oak Park Varsity Eagles coasted to an easy victory over Buckley Varsity Griffins 12-2 on Wednesday

Oak Park Varsity Eagles got on the board in the second inning when Andrew Rosen singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles put up five runs in the seventh inning. Oak Park Varsity Eagles big bats were led by Daniel Messe, Jackson Weir, and Abhinav Chinnam, all driving in runs in the inning.

Weir earned the win for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The hurler surrendered two runs on four hits over four and a third innings, striking out three. Landon Holmes threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Tyler Shuter was on the hill for Buckley Varsity Griffins. The lefthander went four innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out five. Josh Mahboubi and Spencer Peterson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Tournament Game 1 – Mount Miguel Matadors

Oak Park Varsity Eagles Defeats Mount Miguel Matadors in High-Scoring Game, 17-10

There were runs aplenty on Monday, as Oak Park Varsity Eagles defeated Mount Miguel Matadors 17-10.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles got things started in the first inning when Landon Holmes singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Jackson Weir, Abhinav Chinnam, Ian Schack, and Ryan Kobayashi all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Mount Miguel Matadors scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Mount Miguel Matadors was led by David Keller, Tyler Kelly, Alfredo Rodriguez, and Julean Sanchez, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

John Pemberton pitched Oak Park Varsity Eagles to victory. The bulldog surrendered six runs on five hits over three and a third innings, striking out four. Jack Brinckerhoff and Schack entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Charlie Sandavol took the loss for Mount Miguel Matadors. The bulldog went two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on five hits and walking zero.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles collected 16 hits on the day. Weir, Holmes, Andrew Rosen, Kobayashi, and Schack all managed multiple hits for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. Weir led Oak Park Varsity Eagles with four hits in six at bats.

Mount Miguel Matadors collected ten hits. Rodriguez, Keller, Xavier, and Junior Ettleman each had multiple hits for Mount Miguel Matadors.
