Oak Park Varsity Eagles couldn’t keep up with Moorpark Varsity Musketeers and fell 11-2 on Friday.

Moorpark Varsity Musketeers opened the scoring in the first after Michael Leddy singled, scoring one run.

Luke Sate scored after tagging up, which helped Oak Park Varsity Eagles tie the game at one in the top of the second.

In the bottom of the second, Moorpark Varsity Musketeers broke up the tie when Cameron Johnson tripled, scoring two runs. Then a triple by Taylor Busch followed to extend the lead 5-1.

Jackson Weir started on the bump for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and four runs (three earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Johnson stepped on the hill first for Moorpark Varsity Musketeers. The starting pitcher allowed three hits ad two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking three.

Sater, Blake Wiltfang, Andrew Rosen, Aaron Helfstein, and Tyler Kutsch each collected one hit for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. Jadon Holmes led Oak Park Varsity Eagles with one run batted in. Oak Park Varsity Eagles turned two double plays in the game.

Oak Park Frosh/Soph Eagles Struggles to Find Groove Against Moorpark Musketeers

Oak Park Frosh/Soph Eagles couldn’t keep up with Moorpark Musketeers and fell 14-2 on Wednesday.

Moorpark Musketeers pulled away for good with eight runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Robert Ceballos singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Gio Maroney singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Lincoln Hamm drew a walk, scoring one run, Evan Brady doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Lucas Buckler singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Jonathan Real doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Tanner Stotts led things off on the hill for Moorpark Musketeers. Stotts allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four.

Noah Goodheart toed the rubber for Oak Park Frosh/Soph Eagles. Goodheart lasted three innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out two. Porter Nicoll threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Tyler Kutsch, Goodheart, and Breyden Hall each managed one hit to lead Oak Park Frosh/Soph Eagles.

Moorpark Musketeers collected 13 hits. Brady, Real, Maroney, and Jona Contreras all managed multiple hits for Moorpark Musketeers. Brady went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Moorpark Musketeers in hits. Moorpark Musketeers was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Real made the most plays with five.

Moorpark Musketeers Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory

Oak Park Varsity Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-5 loss to Moorpark Musketeers on Wednesday. Moorpark Musketeers took the lead on a walk in the first inning.

Moorpark Musketeers got on the board in the first inning when Greg Lareva drew a walk, scoring one run.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles put up five runs in the sixth inning. Oak Park Varsity Eagles batters contributing to the big inning included Andrew Rosen, Jared Cornick, Jackson Weir, and David Wan, who all drove in runs.

Moorpark Musketeers scored eight runs in the third inning. Zack Serup, Lareva, Junior Stillwagon, Carson Cerny, Happy Edwards, and Matthew Ramirez powered the big inning with RBIs.

Cerny was on the pitcher’s mound for Moorpark Musketeers. The pitcher surrendered four runs on six hits over five and a third innings, striking out nine and walking zero.

Jadon Holmes was on the mound for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The hurler went two innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out two. Wan threw four innings out of the bullpen.

Ryan Kobayashi went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Oak Park Varsity Eagles in hits.

Nate Navarro led Moorpark Musketeers with two hits in three at bats.

Tuesday’s game against Moorpark Musketeers JV was a heartbreaker for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles, as they lost the lead late in a 10-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Moorpark Musketeers JV batting in the bottom of the fifth when Greg Lareva singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Moorpark Musketeers JV, giving up ten runs.
