Royal Varsity Highlanders Defeat Oak Park Varsity Eagles Behind Steady Offensive Production

Royal Varsity Highlanders built their lead a few runs at a time in a 7-0 victory over Oak Park Varsity Eagles on Friday.

Royal Varsity Highlanders got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Colten Rainer walked, and Caden Salazar grounded out, each scoring one run.

A single by Tillman extended the Royal Varsity Highlanders lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Royal Varsity Highlanders added two runs in the third after Noah Vasquez scored after tagging up.

Jackson Weir opened the game for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. They gave up six hits and six runs over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Caden Sramek led things off on the mound for Royal Varsity Highlanders. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings striking out eight and walking one.

Leadoff hitter Tyler Kutsch led Oak Park Varsity Eagles with two hits in three at bats.

Tillman drove the middle of the lineup, leading Royal Varsity Highlanders with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Jayden Williams, Vasquez, and Tillman each collected two hits for Royal Varsity Highlanders. Royal Varsity Highlanders were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Peyton Visage made the most plays with eight.
