Royal Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory
Oak Park Varsity Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-0 loss to Royal on Thursday. Royal scored on a double by Hansen in the first inning, a single by Riecker in the second inning, a error in the second inning, and a triple by Muench in the second inning.
The Oak Park Varsity Eagles struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Royal, giving up 11 runs.
Royal fired up the offense in the first inning, when Hansen doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.
Hansen was credited with the victory for Royal. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 14.
John Pemberton took the loss for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The hurler allowed six hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one.
