Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles Stymied By St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs

Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles couldn’t keep up with St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs and fell 9-0 on Tuesday.

An inside the park home run by Seamus Sipe put St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs on the board in the top of the second.

St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Devon Granillo doubled, Sipe singled, and AJ Byrum singled, each scoring one run.

Alex Lee led things off on the mound for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five and walking five. Joseph Martinez stepped on the hill first for St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs. They surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none.

Noah Goodheart and Eilan Peretz each collected one hit for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles worked the count all day, piling up six walks. Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Peretz had the most chances in the field with seven.

St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs collected 12 hits in the game. Sipe led the St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs with four hits in four at bats. Collin Barker and Byrum each collected multiple hits for St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs. Christian Dominguez led St. Bonaventure Junior Varsity Seraphs with three walks. Overall the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Sipe stole two bases.
