Big Third Inning Propels Oak Park Eagles to Victory Over Hueneme Vikings

Oak Park Eagles scored six runs in the third on its way to an 11-2 victory over Hueneme Vikings on Tuesday. Oak Park Eagles’s big inning was driven by a walk by Ryan Ulmen, a single by Bennett Price, an error on a ball put in play by James Pernin, and a double by Gavin Gudino.

Oak Park Eagles got things moving in the second inning. AJ Garcia doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Oak Park Eagles put up six runs in the third inning. Price, Ulmen, Gudino, and Pernin each had RBIs in the frame.

Pernin was the winning pitcher for Oak Park Eagles. The hurler surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out four. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Ulmen, Brode Gann, Gavin Manzo, and Aiden Cass all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

John Melgoza took the loss for Hueneme Vikings. The pitcher lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out one.

Oak Park Eagles saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Price and Jack Fisher all had multiple hits for Oak Park Eagles. Fisher and Price each collected two hits to lead Oak Park Eagles.

Hueneme Vikings racked up eight hits. Abel Lopez, Chis Rodriguez, and David Marquez each racked up multiple hits for Hueneme Vikings.
