Foothill Tech Dragons Nearly Erases 7-Run Deficit in Loss to Oak Park Eagles

Oak Park Eagles got out to a seven-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 9-7 victory over Foothill Tech Dragons on Saturday. Foothill Tech Dragons managed five runs in the failed comeback. PlayerB, PlayerF, PlayerG, PlayerH, and PlayerI came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

An early lead helped propel Oak Park Eagles to victory. Oak Park Eagles scored on a fielder’s choice by Ryan Kobayashi, a single by Gavin Manzo, a single by Ian Schack, and a single by Ethan Smith in the second inning.

Oak Park Eagles pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second PlayerA induced Kobayashi to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Manzo singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Schack singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Smith singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Schack led things off on the hill for Oak Park Eagles. The hurler allowed two hits and two runs over two-thirds of an inning.

PlayerA led things off on the mound for Foothill Tech Dragons. The pitcher allowed six hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out three. PlayerC and PlayerB entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two innings respectively.

Oak Park Eagles tallied ten hits on the day. Smith, Jackson Weir, and Abhinav Chinnam all managed multiple hits for Oak Park Eagles. Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Oak Park Eagles in hits.

PlayerI led Foothill Tech Dragons with two hits in three at bats.
