Oak Park Eagles Can’t Catch Up To Buena Bulldogs

Oak Park Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 16-3 loss to Buena Bulldogs on Tuesday. Buena Bulldogs took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

The Oak Park Eagles struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Buena Bulldogs, giving up 16 runs.

Buena Bulldogs got things started in the first inning when Kimble’s sac fly scored one run for Buena Bulldogs.

Oak Park Eagles notched three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Oak Park Eagles was led by Sean Hurley and Bennett Price, who all drove in runs.

Buena Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Buena Bulldogs came thanks to singles by Silva, Kendlinger, Beltowski, and Sherman, doubles by Kimble and Martinez, by Puga, and an error on a ball put in play by Sherman.

Garcia was the winning pitcher for Buena Bulldogs. The fireballer went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out four and walking one. Silva and Beltowski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Silva recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Buena Bulldogs.

James Pernin took the loss for Oak Park Eagles. The pitcher went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out three.

Max Gudino, Hurley, Aiden Cass, and Price each managed one hit to lead Oak Park Eagles.

Buena Bulldogs tallied 17 hits in the game. Martinez, Weeks, Sherman, Kimble, and Beltowski all had multiple hits for Buena Bulldogs. Martinez went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Buena Bulldogs in hits.
