Oak Park Eagles JV Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Royal Highlanders

Oak Park Eagles JV stole the lead late and defeated Royal Highlanders 7-4 on Friday. The game was tied at four with Oak Park Eagles JV batting in the top of the sixth when Jack Fisher singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Oak Park Eagles JV earned the victory despite allowing Royal Highlanders to score three runs in the first inning. Royal Highlanders’s big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Finn and a double by Anselmo.

Royal Highlanders got things started in the first inning. Anselmo drove in one when he doubled.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Royal Highlanders tied things up at four. Royal Highlanders scored one run when Anselmo doubled.

Jaxon Jordan got the win for Oak Park Eagles JV. He allowed five hits and four runs over five and a third innings, striking out four. Fisher and Quest Finnan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Finnan recorded the last out to earn the save for Oak Park Eagles JV.

Westerhouse took the loss for Royal Highlanders. He went three innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out three.

Herrera started the game for Royal Highlanders. He went three innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one

Oak Park Eagles JV collected nine hits. Nathan Goeken, AJ Garcia, and Neal Purohit each collected multiple hits for Oak Park Eagles JV. Purohit, Garcia, and Goeken each collected two hits to lead Oak Park Eagles JV.

Anselmo led Royal Highlanders with two hits in three at bats.
