Oak Park Varsity Eagles Defeats Foothill Tech Dragons in Blow Out Victory Thanks to First Inning Boost

Oak Park Varsity Eagles knocked in seven runs in the first on its way to an 11-2 victory over Foothill Tech Dragons on Saturday. Oak Park Varsity Eagles’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Ryan Kobayashi, Jared Cornick, Ethan Smith, and Gavin Manzo and by Jackson Weir and Jadon Holmes.

In the first inning, Oak Park Varsity Eagles got their offense started when Weir was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Weir was the winning pitcher for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The ace lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out four. Holmes threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

H Donaldson started the game for Foothill Tech Dragons. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking zero. C Stevens, S Murray, Jimenez, and A Gomez each entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings, two innings, one and one-third innings, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles collected 11 hits. Kobayashi, Manzo, and Andrew Rosen all had multiple hits for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. Rosen, Manzo, and Kobayashi each managed two hits to lead Oak Park Varsity Eagles.
