Oak Park Varsity Eagles Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Oak Park Varsity Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-0 loss to Simi Valley Pioneers on Friday. Simi Valley Pioneers scored on a single by Walgren in the first inning, a walk by Yamamoto in the first inning, a double by Herron in the first inning, a single by Walgren in the second inning, a groundout by Pina in the second inning, and a error in the second inning.

The Oak Park Varsity Eagles struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Simi Valley Pioneers, giving up 12 runs.

In the first inning, Simi Valley Pioneers got their offense started when Walgren singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

A double by Landon Holmes in the second inning was a positive for Oak Park Varsity Eagles.

Nykoluk took the win for Simi Valley Pioneers. The ace allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Bond threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jadon Holmes took the loss for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The bulldog allowed five hits and seven runs over one inning, striking out one.

Holmes went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Oak Park Varsity Eagles in hits.

Simi Valley Pioneers racked up 12 hits in the game. Walgren, Pena, and Herron all had multiple hits for Simi Valley Pioneers. Walgren led Simi Valley Pioneers with three hits in four at bats. Simi Valley Pioneers was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Campbell made the most plays with 14.
