Oak Park Varsity Eagles Can’t Catch Up To Camarillo

Oak Park Varsity Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-0 loss to Camarillo on Wednesday. Camarillo scored on a sacrifice fly by Boston Bateman in the first inning and a double by Andrew Jensen in the second inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Camarillo pitchers struck out 13, while Oak Park Varsity Eagles sat down three.

Camarillo got things started in the first inning. Bateman’s sac fly scored one run for Camarillo.

A single by Landon Holmes in the fifth inning was a positive for Oak Park Varsity Eagles.

Bateman got the win for Camarillo. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 13 and walking zero.

Jack Brinckerhoff took the loss for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The pitcher surrendered three runs on two hits over three innings, striking out one.

Holmes and Abhinav Chinnam each managed one hit to lead Oak Park Varsity Eagles.

Troy Arenzana went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Camarillo in hits. Camarillo was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Blaise Meylemans made the most plays with 13.
