Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles Falls to Simi Valley After Sixth Inning Score

Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles lost the lead late in a 14-5 defeat to Simi Valley on Tuesday. The game was tied at five with Simi Valley batting in the top of the sixth when Aiden Blake doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Simi Valley, giving up 14 runs.

Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles took an early lead in the second inning. Andrew Rosen hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

In the top of the fourth inning, Simi Valley tied things up at five. Jacob Campbell singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Simi Valley scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Simi Valley batters contributing to the big inning included Blake, Campbell, and Kenneth Perez, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Diego Barajas got the win for Simi Valley. The hurler lasted two innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out two. Jaxson Herron threw five innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jack Brinckerhoff took the loss for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. Brinckerhoff went one inning, allowing four runs on five hits and walking one.

John Pemberton started the game for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. The bulldog allowed ten hits and five runs over five innings, striking out one

Gabe Gonzalez, Griffin Hurley, Daniel Messe, Luke Sater, Ethan Smith, and Ryan Kobayashi each managed one hit to lead Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles.

Simi Valley collected 21 hits on the day. Hector Pina, Campbell, Steele Pizzella, Herron, Tyler Carter, and Blake all managed multiple hits for Simi Valley. Pina led Simi Valley with four hits in six at bats.
