Simi Valley Captures Lead Early to Defeat Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles

Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 19-2 loss to Simi Valley on Tuesday. Simi Valley scored on a single by Carchi, a double by Jacob Campbell, an error, a double by Collin Yamamoto, and a single by Hector Pina in the first inning.

The Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Simi Valley, giving up 19 runs.

Simi Valley fired up the offense in the first inning. Carchi singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Simi Valley scored 11 runs in the third inning. Pina, Steele Pizzella, Carchi, Campbell, Walker Hodges, and Jaxson Herron each had RBIs in the big inning.

Diego Barajas took the win for Simi Valley. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three. Lucca De Biasse and Pizzella entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

John Pemberton took the loss for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. Pemberton allowed 13 hits and 15 runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

Gabe Gonzalez, Griffin Hurley, Ethan Smith, and Ian Schack all had one hit to lead Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles.

Simi Valley tallied 17 hits in the game. Carchi, Pina, Herron, Campbell, Pizzella, and Yamamoto each collected multiple hits for Simi Valley.
