Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles Falls to Fillmore After Seventh Inning Score

Monday’s game against Fillmore was a heartbreaker for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles, as they lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Fillmore batting in the top of the seventh when #22 doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Fillmore pitchers struck out five, while Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles sat down 15.

Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles got on the board in the second inning. Ethan Smith singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the top of the third inning, Fillmore tied things up at two. Fillmore scored one run when #22 singled.

#6 took the win for Fillmore. The ace went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out three. #22 threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ian Schack took the loss for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one.

Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles racked up eight hits in the game. Ryan Ulmen and Sonny De La Torre all managed multiple hits for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. De La Torre and Ulmen all had two hits to lead Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles.

#22 went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Fillmore in hits. Fillmore tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. #22 led the way with three. Fillmore didn’t commit a single error in the field. #18 had the most chances in the field with seven.
