Ryan Weiss Drives in Five as Oak Park Eagles Wins Over Mission Prep
Five runs batted in from Ryan Weiss helped lead Oak Park Eagles past Mission Prep 12-6 on Tuesday. Weiss drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the third, and a home run in the seventh.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Oak Park Eagles collected 13 hits and Mission Prep had six.
Oak Park Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning. Weiss drove in two when Weiss doubled.
Oak Park Eagles tallied four runs in the fourth inning. Max Peters and Aiden Cass each had RBIs in the frame.
Mission Prep scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Mission Prep came thanks to a single by Hiltbrand and a fielder’s choice by Sison.
Nico De La Torre got the win for Oak Park Eagles. The bulldog surrendered six runs on five hits over five innings, striking out four. Ryan Ulmen threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Broyles took the loss for Mission Prep. The bulldog lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and nine runs while striking out three.
Oak Park Eagles smacked two home runs on the day. Peters went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Weiss went yard in the seventh inning.
