Moorpark Musketeers Captures Lead Early to Defeat Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles
Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-6 loss to Moorpark Musketeers on Tuesday. Moorpark Musketeers scored on a sacrifice fly by Shannoev, a walk by Eisenstein, an error, a single by Rohl, a double by Serup, and an error in the second inning.
Despite the loss, Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Moorpark Musketeers had nine hits on the way to victory.
Moorpark Musketeers pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second Shannoev’s sac fly scored one run for Moorpark Musketeers, Eisenstein drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Moorpark Musketeers, Rohl singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Serup doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs for Moorpark Musketeers.
Serup earned the win for Moorpark Musketeers. The bulldog allowed five hits and six runs over four innings, striking out two. Munoz and Barrcra entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Gavin Manzo took the loss for Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles. Manzo went three and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 runs on eight hits and striking out three.
Tony Barbello went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Oak Park Junior Varsity Eagles in hits.
Moorpark Musketeers tallied nine hits in the game. Navarro and Serup all managed multiple hits for Moorpark Musketeers.
