Oak Park Eagles Struggles to Find Groove Against Royal Highlanders

Oak Park Eagles had a tough time generating runs on Tuesday, dropping their game with Royal Highlanders 14-5.

Royal Highlanders fired up the offense in the first inning, when #26’s sac fly scored one run for Royal Highlanders.

Royal Highlanders took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored one run for Royal Highlanders and #1 singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Oak Park Eagles put up three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Jack Fisher and a single by Jaxon Jordan.

Royal Highlanders scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Royal Highlanders batters contributing to the big inning included #18, #5, #1, #9, and #44, who all drove in runs.

#13 earned the win for Royal Highlanders. The ace lasted four innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out eight. #17 and #23 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

James Pernin took the loss for Oak Park Eagles. The hurler went three and a third innings, allowing six runs on four hits.

Jordan, Ian Costanzo, Sean Hurley, and Bennett Price all had one hit to lead Oak Park Eagles.

#9 went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Royal Highlanders in hits.
